BUHARI IS TRULY LIFELESS!
BUHARI IS TRULY LIFELESS!
Since 1983, I have been struggling to find a word that perfectly describes Muhammadu Buhari. Thankfully, US President Trump has helped me out. "LIFELESS!"
Yes, Muhammadu Buhari has been lifeless since 1983.
Only a lifeless person could be made the Head of State in a coup he didn't participate. That coup overthrew a deeply corrupt civilian government. Buhari not only restructured our brains but also reordered the notorious ways we do things prior to 1983 with the mantra, "War Against indiscipline." It takes a lifeless person to achieve that!
Only a lifeless person could gather all the politicians that embezzled our commonwealth and destroyed our economy and send them to jail. He did it without forgiveness, without remorse. That is lifeless!
Only a lifeless President could lose elections on three occasions and not be discouraged. The fourth time he was so lifeless that he defeated an incumbent President. The defeat was so glaring that the incumbent accepted defeat before formal announcement!
President Buhari gave his word that he wouldn't interfere in becomes the Senate President and how the Senate is run. And he did! Only a lifeless President would do that. An animated OBJ couldn't resist interfering and lording over the Senate and House of Assemblies.
Only a lifeless president would the young and old abuse and call unprintable names yet he is unmoved. He got so little votes, a secessionist group and abuses upon abuses from a region but answered them with 69 roads and bridges projects within 3 years. That is lifeless!
Only a lifeless person would allow his deputy to shine. The vibrant OBJ never did! The spirited Goodluck Jonathan never did! Only Buhari is known for giving his deputy the enabling environment to shine, shine and shine. Idiagbon shine unto his death. Osinbajo is shinning everywhere he goes. What a lifeless leader!
It takes a Lifeless President not to give a kobo to have 3 Budgets passed. Even when members of the National Assembly deliberately sat on them for months hope there would be 'Ghana-Must-Go' bags, President Buhari stood on his ground. Your spirited Goodluck Jonathan gave lawmakers N17bn to pass 2015 budget! This Buhari is stingingly lifeless!
Only a lifeless person will, in spite of all the temptations that come with being a Head of State, a Governor, a PTF Chairman, and current President wouldn't steal public money. He is contented with only the salaries and incentives that come along with the positions.
Only a lifeless President will travel all the way to America to meet the most powerful man on earth, listen to his demands, and less than 5 days after that meeting, declared that his country has entered into a Currency Swap agreement with a rival country, China! That is Lifeless!
Only a Lifeless but bold President would reject overtures to open his country's borders to US agricultural commodities. No wonder he was labelled "Lifeless." But if that is what lifeless is, then My President Buhari is truly "Lifeless!"
Only a Lifeless President would hear that few selfish and self ambition-driven strong party members has decamped to a rival party and not be bothered. Instead, he thanked and wished them luck! Walahi! This President Buhari is too lifeless!
Only a Lifeless President would go to the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), a gathering of erudite lawyers and SANs and look them in the eye and declared: “The rule of law must be subjected to the supremacy of the nation’s security and national interest. The law can only be optimally practiced in a Nigeria that is safe, secure and prosperous." That is boldly lifeless!

Over 10,000 supporters of Kwankwaso reportedly defect to APC, burn red caps
Not fewer than 10,000 supporters of Kwankwasiyya group in Kano reportedly defected by to the APC - The defectors said they decided to dump the PDP and Kwankwasiyya due to the laudable youth empowerment programmes of the APC government - Accepting the defectors, the APC state chairman assured them that Ganduje-led administration would continue to introduce more empowerment programmes Over 10,000 supporters of Kwankwasiyya group under the auspices of Tricycle Riders Association of Nigeria, Kano state chapter have reportedly left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for All Progressive Congress (APC). Daily Trust reports that the defection coincided with the day the leader of Kwankwasiyya group, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, was declaring his ambition to run for president in the 2019 general election. NAIJ.com gathered that the defectors, who were received at Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium by the APC state chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, burnt hundreds of red caps, one of the symbols of Kwankwasiyya movement. READ ALSO: Breaking: Kwankwaso declares for presidency in Abuja (photos, video) The leader of the defectors, Sani Sharu Dala, said they had dumped PDP and Kwankwasiyya courtesy of the laudable youth empowerment programmes the APC-led government had been introducing since it assumed office in 2015. “We have defected to APC and burnt our red caps to show to the world that we have left Kwankwasiyya and the PDP. We are convinced that the overall leader of the party in the state Dr Ganduje is committed to the plights of the people. We will continue to support the Buhari/Ganduje governments.” Receiving the defectors, Abbas said: “APC is your home. It was unfortunate that someone misled you to join PDP for his personal interest. But it is fortunate that you have understood the real motive of Kwankwaso’s decamping to PDP. “We must thank God that you have returned to your former party. Your return to APC is a clear testimony that people are in total support of President Buhari and Governor Ganduje. You should feel free in APC because it is your home and we will treat you fairly.” On his part, the commissioner for local government, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, assured youths in the state that the Ganduje-led administration would continue to introduce more empowerment programmes that would uplift their living standard. Garo said Kano state government had so far empowered over one million youths, assuring that more youths would benefit from the gesture as the programme was still in progress. The commissioner urged youth in the state to rally round the Buhari and Ganduje-led administrations, saying the APC government at all levels was determined to work more on the creation of job opportunities for the teeming unemployed Nigerians. The state commissioner of information, Malam Muhammad Garba, said Ganduje administration would not relent in its efforts towards salvaging youths from the bondage of dirty politics. “Kano state government will do everything humanly possible to improve the lives of youths in the state. While the government is putting in its best towards improving your living standard, we expect you to vote for Buhari and Ganduje come 2019 general elections. “I am confident that Kano youths will not vote for anybody except Buhari and Ganduje because the two leaders have done a lot to them especially in the area of empowerment, sports and entrepreneurship among other areas. Let me state categorically that in as much as the youths will continue to support Ganduje, the governor in return will continue to empower them,” Garba said.

Just in: Kwara governor’s aide resigns, vows to remain in APC
Abdullahi Danbaba, the special assistant on non-governmental affairs to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state, has reportedly resigned his appointment to enable him stay in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Danbaba announced his resignation in a letter in Ilorin on Sunday, August 26. The letter was addressed to Governor Ahmed through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
According to him, the decision to resign the appointment is due to extensive and heart-to-heart consultation with the people of his constituency coupled with the issue created by the recent political re-alignment in the state and the country at large. He, however, expressed gratitude to the governor and president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, for the opportunity offered him to serve the people of Kwara. Danbaba hailed from Kaiama local aovernment area of the state. Speaking on his decision, Danbaba said his decision was borne out of the recent political re-alignment that saw Bukola Saraki-led political leadership in the state defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People Democratic Party (PDP)
“And as a result, they would not toe the path of Saraki and I have consulted widely with my people and in view of the fact that the community suffered for a long period of time, I should also disengage from this government and come home and join the people’s party; that is the APC,” he said. He lamented that the community had been cut off from the state as the three major roads that linked the community with other parts of the country are in pitiable condition. He explained that the people of the area were staunch supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari throughout his political foray. “Buhari since his political foray has been consistently winning Kaiama local government.
Newswailler.blogspot.com earlier reported that Kwara state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, explained that his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is a script hatched and perfected by fifth columnists within the party.

NEOCOLONALISM & UNDERDEVELOPMENT: USING KWARA STATE AS A CASE STUDY.
NEOCOLONALISM & UNDERDEVELOPMENT: USING KWARA STATE AS A CASE STUDY.
By Muideen Ibraheem
Kwara State was created in 1967 and since the State of Harmony has not been too lucky with governance and leaders.
Self acclaimed godfathers have been controlling the soul of that poor state thereby stifling the growth of the state that has immense growth potentials.
Neocolonalism can simply be defined as: "the use of economic, political, cultural, or other pressures to control or influence other countries or people, state especially former dependencies."
The self acclaimed godfathers have held Kwara State in the jugular from one generation to the other and they used the antics of neocolonalism and poverty tendencies startegy.
The present self acclaimed godfather have so perfected this act of neocolonalism and infact he has taken it to another level now to the extent that his subjects most especially our so called representatives at the State and National assemblies now hero worship him by kneeling down for him whilst talking to him (godfather). Haba! In this century!
Is that not modern day slavery?
At 51, one is not happy with the state of development in Kwara State at all! So pathetic and really Sad!
According to the Debt Management Office, Kwara State has N40.24B debt as we speak! Whereas a State like Anambra has just about N2.0N debt.
So many questions are begging for answers. What did our successive government used that huge debt for?
Because I cannot see developmental projects that are comemsurate to that huge debt profile? The debt would be paid by the next generation if care is not taken. I don't think our present leaders are ready to liquidate the huge debt as we speak.
Is this how Kwarans will continue to 'siddon look'?
I think our "Mumu don do". Apologies to Charly Boy.
I honestly think that the rithorics are now enough.
Lets rescue Kwara from the self acclaimed godfather who has turned himself into 'tin god'.
Collect your PVC and take action at the next polls.
Say NO to rigging in Kwara!
Say NO to godfatherism in Kwara!
Say No to under development in Kwara!
Enough of media Hype in Kwara!
We want real development in Kwara State that is devoid of antics and shenanigans.
God bless Kwara State!
It is well!

CONFESSION OF A BUHARIST, I AM A DIE HARD SUPPORTER OF BUHARI'S SECOND TERM BID.
I AM A BUHARIST FROM CROSS RIVER
Forgive me, I am madly in support of President Muhammedu Buhari second term bid because am a Cross Riverian.
In 1999 we gave PDP 100 percent votes and lost Bakassi to Cameroon.
In 2007, We gave PDP 100 percent votes and lost 76 oil wells to our neighbouring state, Akwa Ibom.
In 2011 we gave PDP 100 percent votes and lost the bid to reclaim Bakassi.
That's in 16 years, we benefit the minister of environment( less than three years) Justice (less than a year, I stand to be corrected) power( less than a year) Culture(less than a year).
But in 2014, we denied APC, stadium, Cultural center for campaign, and a head teacher of primary school gave them their small open, watering field, In 2015 we gave him 0.55 percent votes and benefits this much:
1. A Minister of Niger Delta.
2. Chairman of NDDC.
3.Special Adviser on Prosecution
4. Head of service to the federation.
5. Chief Justice of the federation
6. Auditor general of Nigeria.
7. Chief of Naval Staff
8. Chairman Lottery Commission
9. Over 20 chairmen and members of federal Universities and polytechnics and colleges of education in Nigeria.
10. Our only federal road that was a Death trap rehabilitated.
11. Our state headquarters linked in the recent map of rail way.
12. Thousands of our unemployed sons daughters benefiting from Npower program and our primary school pupils who can't afford Snacks to school are now been fed daily etc.
The God that I worship and posterity won't forgive me if I don't reciprocate this kind gesture.
Thanks so much.

2 South-East Governors set to join APC before 2019 Election
Rochas Okorocha - 2 South-East Governors set to join APC before 2019 Election.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state on Thursday, disclosed that two governors in the South-East would join the All Progressives Congress, APC, without providing names of the governors.
Speaking to journalists, during a media interaction in Owerri, the governor said: “It will be good news for us and our political future that two South-East governors will soon jump the ship and move into APC before the elections. We won’t accept the idea of a PDP governor working for Buhari presidency, while expecting us to return him as a PDP governor. It will be unfair for the party.
It is either you are with us or not with us.” Okorocha also claimed that the defections from his party, APC, by some chieftains of the party, took place two years ago but is only manifesting now, adding that political interests were responsible for the defections.
He therefore told Nigerians not to see the defections as a spite on APC but as alternatives to those defectors to pursue their political interests. His words: “APC is not in crisis because those leaving the party are those who should leave. APC is still a sound and united party.
We hold the president at the highest esteem because of our conviction in his leadership. Muhammadu Buhari is still the best at this point. Look at the candidates, Buhari remains the best for 2019.” He also said that the Igbos should rewrite their political history and change the narratives with the 2019 election, stating that he was happy that the Igbos, for the first time have returned to who they are and are willing to play the right politics by making sure that President Buhari receives the right votes from the South-East.
He continued, “In the last election, the PDP in the South-East brought those sentiments of religion and tribe and sold the dummy to our people who bought it without thinking twice. We had all our eggs in one basket. And the bad politics the Igbos played reflected today in our position in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
BETWEEN SAINTS AND SINNERS.
Between saints and sinners. By Comrade Adekunle Samson.
It is to the credit of the saints and the sinners that we now rank as one of the chronic poverty capitals of the world
“They say if Buhari wins election, they will all go to prison. That is why they are running from APC to form a formidable force against us. Most of them hid money in latrines, we don’t need thieves in APC; they should go. If they don’t go, we will pursue them out as two good men are better than 10 and 10 good men are better than thousands.” (Oshiomole, 2018)
There is no best time to see the hypocrisy of Nigerian leaders than now when politicians are hiding under the camouflage of ‘massism’ to pitch their tents where the interests of their inner caucus can be best served, protected and entrenched. While Nigerians suffer economic crunch, elevated unemployment, heightened poverty and uncertain tomorrow owing to untamed insecurity, both the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and the seeming opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) opened their windows to party switching. Each party is busy scavenging for individuals with the requisite political capital that can make victory happen in 2019. The ultimate concern is the political worth calculated in terms of the number of votes the new ‘player’ can bring to the club to win the champions league in 2019. In all this, it is immaterial whether the individual switching camp is of questionable character or not. Funny enough we are inundated with name calling: the defectors have been reconstructed by the ruling APC as ‘bad eggs’, ‘thieves’ and ‘corrupt’. The question is how come a ‘good person’ of three years relationship while in APC suddenly becomes labelled as ‘thieves’?
In the richly oral tradition of the Yoruba people of southwest Nigeria it is rightly observed that the outpouring of vituperations in social relationships must have been laced with discord (ìjà lódé ni orín dí òwe). Peter and Paul Okoye (P-Square) provides insight into the importance of the presentation of the self in anticipation of the evaluation of others. In their song ‘Nobody Ugly’, P-Square presents to us those ‘not beautiful’ but who utilise technology to enhance beauty. With technology-enhanced beauty, people are deceived by the presentation of the self as against the real person. For instance, a black person could use image modifier to become light skinned thereby deceiving viewers. Using this analogy therefore, nobody is ugly until we say the person is ugly. Those who defected have become ‘ugly’ from their beautiful old-self. But the ugly can also be painted as beautiful (if a PDP member defects to APC) depending on the motive behind such remarks. Complimentary and uncomplimentary remarks are therefore not entirely objective but subjective. The same thing happened to the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari when he was presented as ‘dictator’, ‘anarchist’, and someone who will Islamise Nigeria. By 2014, Buhari was repackaged from a ‘sinner’ into sainthood wearing a messianic robe. Even Buhari in his Chatham House speech said he had become a converted democrat. This transformation affirms the ‘nobody is ugly’ thesis. It shows the hypocrisy of the APC national chairman who never saw the need to invite the police to prosecute the defectors before leaving APC since he was sure they are ‘thieves’.
The ruling APC has sufficiently demonstrated its ability to perfume those loyal to it while fumigating those found opposed to it. The comrade senator, Shehu Sanni rightly observed this when he asserted that the anti-corruption fight of the ruling party is fraught with jaundiced considerations. He opined that while the presidency de-odorises friends of the executive, it deploys toxic spray on perceived enemies and labels them as anti-people and corrupt in order to pitch them against Nigerians. The social construction of what is criminal, who is criminal and who is not deviant are all a function of power. Those who hold the lever of power determine those to be labelled as criminals and those to be prosecuted or not. This has played out in cases such as those involving Babashir Lawal, the backdoor entrance of Abdulrasheed Maina, the construction of Fulani-herdsmen by the presidency, and the ongoing allegation of forgery against Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun among others.

I was admitted into university without WAEC result – Adeleke
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has said he was admitted into the university in the United States without presenting his West African School Certificate Examination result.
Adeleke said this in Ede on Thursday while reacting to the dismissal of the suit filed against his eligibility before Justice David Oladimeji of the Osun State High Court.
Adeleke, who was flanked by some of his mates at the Ede Muslim Grammar School, Ede, said he was well known during his school days because he loved his schoolmates and loved sports.
He said, “We all went to school and we know that some results would not be released. But they may release the remaining results tomorrow. Who knows? After I sat for the exams, my mind was in the US. The university I attended did not need our qualification from here. I say for their qualifying exam.”
He said he had been calling aspirants that contested with him for the PDP’s sole ticket and that he had held a meeting with Dr Akin Ogunbiyi in the presence of the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, and the national organising secretary of the party.
Adeleke said, “I chose to remain quiet since the conclusion of the governorship primary for two reasons; first it is my unchanged belief in party supremacy and utmost respect for the leadership of our great party.
NEWSNASS siege: How Lawal Daura betrayed Buhari – Sacked DSS boss’s ex-aide opens up
How Lawal Daura betrayed Buhari – Sacked DSS boss’s ex-aide opens up
Abdulwahab Abdulrahman, an ex-aide to the sacked Director General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Lawal Daura, has accused his former boss of extensive corruption.
He portrayed him as a man who serially betrayed his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, for money.
Daura was dismissed by the Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday following unlawful invasion of the National Assembly by men of of the security agency.
Abdulrahman, who retired as a senior DSS official, claimed that Daura also betrayed Buhari by serving as a mole for Bukola Saraki, the Senate President.
“He will go and get information on plans for (Senate president) Bukola (Saraki) and then leak it to him,” News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, quoted the ex-aide as saying in an interview.
The former aide of Daura said he quit the agency in 2016 because of the scale of corruption and abuse there.
Daura, who led Nigeria’s domestic spy agency since 2015, was abruptly fired, on Tuesday, by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo after he ordered a blockade of the National Assembly.
Abdulrahman said President Buhari never knew Daura until he was introduced to him by the late Sen. Mustapha Bukar in 2015. He then disclosed how Daura warmed his way into the heart of President Buhari’s cousin, Mamman Daura.
He claimed that after Daura was appointed in July 2015, “Daura was receiving money from everyone, including the president’s enemies.”
Abdulrahman said when they resumed, they always closed late at work, often at about 2am.
“What we were doing was mostly receiving Ghana must go filled with cash brought by enemies of government to him.
“The rate of corruption on that fourth floor was too much and the President doesn’t deserve this.
“He will go and get information on plans for (Senate president) Bukola (Saraki) and then leak it to him,” he said.
Similar allegation emerged Tuesday after Daura’s removal, with many accusing him of working for Saraki against the government.

PDP lawmakers were drinking whisky, nothing like impeachment threat – Buhari’s aide, Ojudu
PDP lawmakers were drinking whisky, nothing like impeachment threat – Buhari’s aide, Ojudu
The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, has dismissed claims by Senators of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that the Presidency was plotting to impeach the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
Ojudu said lawmakers, who converged at the National Assembly yesterday were attempting to “elicit public sympathy.”
The Presidential aide, who was at the National Assembly said the lawmakers were concerned about budget and next year’s elections and not the alleged impeachment of Saraki.
Recall that operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, had cordoned-off the National Assembly on Tuesday, stopping lawmakers from having access to the complex.
Following the action of the secret police, some lawmakers, however, forced their way into the National Assembly complex in an attempt to scuttle any alleged move to impeach Saraki.
Featuring on Channels television, the Presidential aide said, “It was the height of it” for the DSS to barricade the complex “whereas some lawmakers were in there, holding (a) meeting and even drinking whiskey”.
“There were photos of the PDP lawmakers, about 30 of them – a mixture of senators and reps – where they sat down at the lobby, drinking whiskey.
“I was asked to go and find out what was happening at the National Assembly. I got there at about 11am and I found about 25 or 30 lawmakers of the PDP sitting down at the lobby and I didn’t see anything (regarding the rumoured impeachment plot).
“When this was happening, they were on their normal caucus meeting. No single member of the APC was at the premises of the National Assembly.
“I spoke to some of the senators yesterday on what the meeting was about and they were concerned and worried about the president’s budget; they were concerned and were asking ‘what do we do?’ If things continue this way, there may be no election next year.”
However, Ojudu said the lawmakers were inside, “holding (a) meeting and even drinking whiskey”.

Saraki' laments over Akpabio's Defection to the APC
"It is still amazing to me that a longtime friend & a colleague of mine that participated fully in all meetings & plans to have us in PDP has cemented plans to defect to APC, my former party just to ridicule me.
I never knew he had eyes on this seat(senate president's seat). It is shocking and surprising to me that a man who danced more than others to welcome us few days ago can be this cunning.
He excused himself from PDP NEC meeting & lied to PDP leaders and I that he was traveling abroad but ended up in a meeting with VP and Asiwaju BAT the same day we had the NEC meeting".
"Even those who promised me the automatic presidential ticket are now scared of me simply because the kwara state PDP boss has decamped to APC. Politics is indeed local"

APC, 15 Other Parties Move Against Saraki
A former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, Chief Iyiola Oyedepo, has said that the APC in the state is in coalition with 15 other parties to wrest political powers in the state from the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki. He listed the political parties in coalition to include, APC, KOWA, Labour Party, Democratic Alliance, Young People’s Party, Peoples, Peoples Party of Nigeria, Hope Party, YPP, DPC, NNPP, FJP, PDC, and the YDP among others.
He alleged that Saraki, who is the political leader of the current ruling political elite in the state, had not provided good political leadership in the state.
He listed the political parties in coalition to include, APC, KOWA, Labour Party, Democratic Alliance, Young People’s Party, Peoples, Peoples Party of Nigeria, Hope Party, YPP, DPC, NNPP, FJP, PDC, and the YDP among others.
Oyedepo spoke with Saturday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on the sidelines of his rousing welcome to Ilorin from Abuja after his defection from the PDP to the APC.
He said, “I can boost of 15 parties that are with us. KOWA is with us, we are with Labour Party, PPN and many others.”
Oyedepo alleged that no fewer than N1trn had accrued to Kwara State from statutory allocations, internally generated revenue and loans for about 16 years.
He lamented that even with the amount, poverty was still ravaging the state while the state had been afflicted with infrastructure decay with lack of human capital development.
But the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor, Dr. Muyideen Akorede said the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and his predecessor, Saraki had provided superlative governance in the state.
He stated that the state had won many national and international awards based on its achievements in good governance and adherence to the rule of law.
He challenged Oyedepo to provide verifiable statistical and financial facts to prove his claim that over N1trn had been mismanaged in the last 16 years in the state.

APC: We’ll ensure Senator Saraki ceases to be Senate president
APC: We’ll ensure Senator Saraki ceases to be Senate president
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it will ensure that the Senate President Bukola Saraki does not return to his seat by using its majority in the Senate to remove him.
It however said it would not be a part of any illegal plot to unseat the senate president as was being alleged by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC).
In a statement issued by the Acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, APC said it would encourage its lawmakers to use their numerical strength to remove the senate president following the rule of law and due process.
“The hierarchy of the APC have no business spending money to impeach these people because APC still commands the majority in both houses. Since Saraki has gone back to where he came from, he can not preside over majority APC lawmakers. Therefore we will use our numerical strength to remove him following the rule of law.
“So let the PDP propaganda machine continue to raise false alarm. we will remain focused and ensure that President Buhari is not distracted by challatans. Very soon we shall separate the men from the boys,” it said.
Regarding the claim by R-APC Spokesman, Kaseem Afegbua, that APC leadership and officials of the Federal Government were plotting to use illegal means to forcefully re-open the Senate chambers, the party accused opposition of merely weeping up sentiments.
“Afegbua and his cohorts are trying to elicit sentiment and to make futile attempt to dent the integrity of the APC led government.
“The reason why most of them are defecting is because the President Buhari led administration is not sharing money which is the PDP philosophy. So this administration can not inject tax payers money into impeaching the President of the senate or the Speaker of the House of Representatives,” it said.
It said it believed that the APC lawmakers know their rules and that they will apply it accordingly.
Defections: Senator Saraki can’t continue to lead National Assembly – Senator Omo-Agege
Defections: Senator Saraki can’t continue to lead National Assembly – Senator Omo-Agege
The senator representing Delta Central in the National Assembly, Barr. Ovie Omo-Agege, has said since the Senate President Bukola Saraki has defected to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) there was no way he could continue to lead the National Assembly.
Omo-Agege who spoke with journalists at the weekend at Emevor, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, said those who left the All Progressives Congress (APC) with Saraki to the PDP went to their natural habitat.
Said he, “These are people who have never supported President Mohammadu Buhari, especially in the senate so we are glad that they have gone, and those who are left now are those who will champion the cause of Buhari.”
Omo-Agege who said that the recent defections would have no effect on the APC, pointed out that the party still has majority in the senate with 53 senators while PDP has 49, ADC and APGA have two senators each and two vacancies which would be filled on August 11.
He said that as people are defecting from APC to PDP, so people are also coming from PDP to APC.
“You can see what is happening in Kwara State as APC people are defecting to PDP so also people are moving from PDP to APC,” he observed.
He added that even without the two seats, APC still commands majority in the Senate and that Saraki knows that the right thing for him was to step down as the Senate President.
“He knows or he ought to know that the right thing for him is to step down for there is no way he can continue to lead the senate when he now belongs to the minority party,” Omo-Agege stated.
SENATOR BUKOLA SARAKI CALLS EMMERGENCY MEETING OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY LEADERS.
FEAR OF BEEN IMPEACHED, BEGINNING OF WISDOM.
The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has convened a meeting of the leaderships of the two chambers of the National Assembly.
The meeting, expected to have in attendance principal officers of the Senate and the House of Representatives, is scheduled to hold Tuesday afternoon.
A source who confirmed the meeting to this newspaper said the meeting would touch on pressing national issues seeking the urgent attention of the National Assembly.
The officials are expected to meet for one hour beginning at noon.
The source added that the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, will then meet with the lawmakers at 1 p.m.
Issues expected to be on the agenda of the meeting include the string of defections in the political space, the rumoured plan to impeach Mr. Saraki and the pending 2019 elections supplementary budget, among others.
The leadership, our sources said, might consider the possibility of reconvening the National Assembly to discuss urgent and important national issues pending before the lawmakers.
Some APC senators, including Ali Ndume and Ahmed Lawal, have insisted that the long adjournment of the National Assembly by Mr. Saraki was not in the best interest of the country.
A media aide to Mr Saraki, Yusuph Olaniyonu, confirmed his principal is planning a meeting but declined to provide details.
The Senate and the House of Representatives proceeded on annual recess on July 24 to reconvene on September 25.

TRADITIONAL INSULTS - A DISRESPECT TO TRADITION AND CULTURE
Bukola Saraki Greets Ooni of Ife standing while people knelt down to talk to him.
Can we call this pride, uncultured behaviour or lack of respect? How can our Senate President Sola Saraki great Ooni of Ife in this standing manner, when people kneel down to talk to him? Can Saraki take this kind of insult? Will Saraki give due respect to traditional rulers or uphold cultural heritage if he gains more control or secures more political power than this??? Can he do same to other Obas/Emirs? Indeed, this man has dragged and rubbished our clean white linen in the mud.

SOCO-PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECT OF POLITICAL VIOLENCE AND WAR ON GENDER IN NIGERIA.
Socio-Psychological Effects of Political Violence and War on Gender in Nigeria
Comrade Adekunle Samson examines the effect of political violence and war on gender in Nigeria with particular focus on the socio-psychological dimensions. In the last decade, Nigeria has witnessed various potholes of political violence and some kind of religious or political war that has greatly influenced the sensibility of every sane individual across the globe. The effect of this, especially on the female gender, children and the aged had been grievous and devastating. Some years back, the abduction of over 200 school girls from a government college in Chibok, Borno state, Nigeria by a religious fundamentalists group gave terrorism and other criminal violence a new dimension and trend in Nigeria. It also portrays a great danger not only to Nigerian child but to all humanity residing in Nigeria. The recent insurgence of fulani herdsmen killing innocent souls is another devastating war against humanity. Unfortunately, instead of the situation to mitigate, it is rather worsening and the socio-psychological effect on genders can only but imagined – from loss of life, displacement of persons, mental stress amongst others. The political analyst and activist, Comrade Samson calls for a holistic approach including building a synergy amongst security agencies, enhance security awareness within the society, partnering with foreign forces and using concerted dialogue to end the menace amongst others as way forward in tackling the menace of political violence and war in Nigeria.

Obasanjo: God Will Not Forgive Me If I Support Atiku For Anything
“How can I be on the same side with Atiku? To do what?” Obasanjo asked. “If I support Atiku for anything, God will not forgive me. If I do not know, yes. But once I know, Atiku can never enjoy my support."
Olusegun Obasanjo, former President, says God will not forgive him should he support Atiku Abubakar, his former deputy for eight years, for public office.
Obasanjo and Atiku have a long-running feud, which most analysts trace back to lead-up to the 2003 presidential election, when governors of the ruling party preferred Atiku to succeed his boss, who wanted a second term.
Earlier, in the week, Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka said Obasanjo knelt down for Atiku in a desperate bid to secure the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the 2003 poll — a humbling moment for which Obasanjo remains bent on punishing his former deputy.
However, speaking with Premium Times on Friday, Obasanjo said his opposition to Atiku’s perennial political ambition is simply down to his deep understanding of the former Adamawa State Governor-Elect.
“How can I be on the same side with Atiku? To do what?” Obasanjo asked.
“If I support Atiku for anything, God will not forgive me. If I do not know, yes. But once I know, Atiku can never enjoy my support.
“I do not have personal grudges with anyone. If you do not do well for Nigeria, you do not do well for all of us.
“It is not a question of working with or not working with an individual,” he said. “If you are working for the good of Nigeria, I am working with you. If you are not working for the good of Nigeria it does not matter who you are I am not working with you.”

Massive crowd as Wamakko tests APC’s popularity in Sokoto
Shortly after Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto governor, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his predecessor, Aliyu Wamakko, reacted by saying people will know who runs the state when he returns home.
And just as he boasted, a towering crowd on Saturday trooped out to the streets of Sokoto to receive the senator.
Wamakko, who represents Sokoto-north, had maintained that despite the governor’s defection, the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains in control of the state.
He had said the state remains solidly an APC-controlled territory, irrespective of Tambuwal’s defection.
Here are pictures of the scenes in Sokoto as Wamakko returns to “show who is in charge”.

ATIKU A PAN NIGERIA LEADER
Atiku a pan Nigeria leader
The Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation has described the return of the former Vice President to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as one of the significant things that has happened to the party recently.
Mr Segun Sowunmi, Spokesman of the organisation said, on Friday in Abuja that Abubakar’s return had been widely accepted among party’s stakeholders. Sowunmi, who described Abubakar as a dignified personality and phenomenal in the political space, said that PDP had received a boost since the return of Abubakar.
“Abubakar is one of those people you can say everything he touches around political space turns to gold. “The significant thing that happened was that Atiku return to PDP and immediately you can see that the discussion in the media and around the country changed. “He has been able to tour round the whole country, visit the leaders and stakeholders. Even as we speak he is still busy going round to intimate people of his ambition. “He is a pan Nigeria leader who has come back to PDP and had helped the party to move beyond compartmentalization of becoming a South-South and South-Eastern party and now make it get back it’s colors and vibes again. “Since Atiku came back, PDP has not been the same again. The political atmosphere has changed. “If you check on all the social and conventional media platforms, you will find out that, the decimal has increased a bit for PDP and Atiku,” he said. Sowunmi, who was also former Director of Jonathan-Sambo Campaign Organisation, said that it was the self-discipline and political maturity of Abubakar that allow him to freely interact with all stakeholders. “He is a kind of leader that Nigerians need. He is a leader who knows how to carry his cross; put his head off and keep walking with followers. Speaking about the Collation of United Political Parties (CUPP), that was recently formed, Sowunmi said the collation needed someone like Abubakar to rescue power in 2019. Sowunmi said that anybody who would be leading such a coalition to a critical election must have access to contacts, rich support from a large retinue of people and opinions of Nigeria. “The way Abubakar has meandered his life around the political space, he has been able to create loyalties everywhere. “So if you want to do a rainbow coalition he is someone who is PDP, who is a bit of APC, a bit of Action Congress of Nigeria, Social Democratic Party, other parties, all matched into one and that one person is Atiku. “No other living Nigerian politicians has the ability to be at home with the nuances, the styles, opinions, wishes, ideological differences of the political parties that come into coalition than Atiku. “And more than likely all of the players have benefited from either his loyalty or his support, mentorship, generosity or his partnership. So it is payback time,” Sowunmi added.
